It’s a new year, and with a new year comes a new age. This year, a number of people will be clocking FIFTY years old – the golden age. It is a big deal and something everybody wishes to meet and surpass. A number of our favorite Nigerian celebrities will be entering the fifth floor this year. Without further ado, here are 7 Nigerian celebrities who will be clocking 50 this year.

1. Desmond Elliott

Popular Nollywood actor Desmond Elliott is one man who has graced our screens for a very long time now. Desmond started when he was still really young playing a number of heartthrob and lover boy roles. Now, Desmond will this year be turning 50 years old on the 4th of February. How time flies!

2. Ali Nuhu

Nollywood actor Ali Nuhu very popularly known in Kannywood is another celebrated actor who will this year be clocking 50 years of age on the 15th of March.

3. Reno Omokri

Controversial Nigerian political commentator, public figure, author, and media personality Reno Omokri is another man who will this year be clocking 50 years of age. He will be reportedly celebrating his golden birthday on the 22nd of January this year.

4. Nse Ikpe-Etim

Popular and beloved Nollywood actress Nse Ikpe-Etim who has starred in a number of Nigerian blockbusters including “Phone Swap”, “The Visit”, and the recent “A Tribe Called Judah” is an actress who will this year be climbing onto the 5th floor of her life. On the 21st of October this year, Nse Ikpe-Etim too will be celebrating her 50th birthday.

5. Ooni of Ife – Oba Ogunwusi

The reigning Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who is the traditional leader of Ile-Ife will this year too be celebrating 50 years of age. Oba Ogunwusi will be celebrating his milestone birthday on the 17th of October and I’m sure the whole Ile-Ife will really shake in celebration on that day.

6. Sunday Oliseh

Nigerian football superstar Sunday Oliseh whose career has spanned over two decades is the next man on today’s list who will be celebrating his 50th birthday come September 14th of this year.

7. Monalisa Chinda

Finally, Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda who is very famous for her prominent roles in blockbuster movies like “She”, “Weekend Getaway”, “Lagos Cougars”, “Kiss and Tell” and more is another woman who will this year be turning 50 years of age. Monalisa Chinda will be clocking 50 years of age come 13th September and I’m sure it’s going to be a time of such merriment for her.
